Is Asha 501 Already Outdated for 2014?

As suspected Nokia released two of their new Asha, Asha 502 and Asha 503 at the end of November and hopefully these new Asha will find their way to Pakistan in a few days. Asha 500 will be following footsteps of these two shortly according to Nokia.

New Asha line comes with updated OS and unique new design language compare to its predecessor Asha 501, which was released in May 2013.

Will Asha 501 be a good buy in 2014 once new Ashas will available for consumers?

Official software update from Nokia refreshed 6 months old Asha 501 and set it in the same line as the new Ashas. Asha 501 will become more suitable option to buy in 2014 for the new users trying out modern and premium looking but not very expensive mobile phone from a trusted brand such as Nokia.

The prices of Asha 501 will come down significantly. My assumption is prices will be down from Rs. 10,000 to somewhere near Rs. 8,000 or less in coming few months. What you will get is everything best of new Asha in a lot less amount, expect for the camera megapixel count.

The design is not as unique as new Asha but has premium built, look and feel. You have got WiFi, dual sim, enhanced modern swipe UI, improved Fastlane, quick Camera access and more apps, including WhatsApp and new exciting games.

Do not forget to watch the video of Asha 501 performance and features after its official software update.
